About the Director
Darlisia Lyles is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where she learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and the violin at the age of 9. Because Darlisia loved marching band which was not offered at the fine art school, she tranferred to Jackson-Olin High School to get the marching band experience. Darlisia became the trombone section leader in the 11th grade and continued that position until she graduated.
